You are staying at Oakley Masion for a few days and want to take in a few activities. What is there to do in this little town? Here are ten fun activities to add to your list!


1. Visit an art Gallery


Winnsboro is known for its love of art, and there is plenty of art around town. The cultural arts district has some of the most talented artists you will find anywhere.

Chris Brown is local to the Winnsboro area and an artist himself. His love for art and the creators motivated him to open a Gallery. In the Gallery, you will find all types of art genres. Contemporary, modern, traditional, abstract, etc., and every medium you can think of. Local artists are represented, but you will find artists' works from all over. If you love art, this gallery should be on your must-see list! The art is for sale and is rotated regularly.



Culture Club Art Gallery

Vic Clark loves art and artists. He has a Gallery that covers two downtown buildings. One side of the gallery serves as an artist Co-op with art from local artists of all genres and mediums, including wood carvings and metalworks. The other side hosts some artists worldwide and books from local authors. They also have poetry nights once a month.

Winnsboro Center for the Arts is a multi-cultural art center dedicated to the education and expansion of the arts. They have a gallery with rotating exhibits featuring both famous and fresh artists. Some of the themed exhibits that feature local artists are:

Men in the Arts

Women in the Arts

Cowboy Tales

and the annual auction/Gala Exhibit

They are dedicated to all types of art, both visual and performance. The bowery Stage hosts Concerts, plays, and, once a month, an Open Mic night. They also have a Gala, an auction once a year, and a book festival.

Winnsboro Center for the arts is a non-profit and takes donations to help run it. It has an interesting history and was featured in an award-winning Short Documentary.

2. Take in a Concert


Winnsboro is a great supporter of the musical arts. Years ago, before there was an art center, there were always music gatherings in Winnsboro and nearby Mineola. Once the art center was well established and a stage added, the music in Winnsboro boomed. Now there are concerts nearly every weekend. Here is a list of some of the places you can catch a concert or two while you are here.

Winnsboro Center for the Arts has some amazing singers that grace The Bowery Stage. The concerts are usually held monthly, although sometimes more often. The Stage area has 88 seats and some awesome acoustics. The usually provide refreshments on a donation basis, and it is a BOYB if you would like to bring your own wine to relax. The concerts are constantly added throughout the year, so keep an eye out for new ones. Many Famous artists have been across the bowery stage, including Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Micheal Martin Murphy.

Concerts are not limited to country and Folk. They have Orcestra, classic, and Rock. Pop and alternative acts as well. Once a month, they have Open Mic Night, where anyone can be a star and sing on stage. Open Mic Night is usually well attended and is an absolute blast.

Open Mic Night is free (donations accepted). Concerts are priced based on who is performing.






Taco Dive

The Taco Dive is a restaurant with a full bar. They serve tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and more. They have live music every weekend on Friday and Saturday. Winter months will usually be slower, with one concert a weekend. The Music is hosted on the covered patio, so get there early as seating is limited and is often standing-room only. No Cover charge. There is a list of upcoming musicians on their Facebook Page.






The Elusive Turkey Bar and Grill

210 N. Main Street

The Elusive Turkey is another full-service. Bar and restaurant that has live music weekly. They serve real brick oven pizza, wings, and more. They usually have at least one show a weekend. There is no cover unless otherwise specified on their Facebook page. They have a covered stage, so it is a great place to get out of the elements and fill your need for music and food!






The Barrel House Bar and Grill

The Barrelhouse is a full-service restaurant with a wide-ranging menu. They have a full bar and can make just about anything you ask for. If you are looking for weekday entertainment, look no further. The barrelhouse has live music on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. They have a large outdoor covered patio. They fill quickly on the music nights, so get there early. They will not take reservations.






Backstage Coffee lounge

This is a little hidden gem. Backstage Coffee Lounge smells delightful, and yes, they make coffee. They also carry breakfast and light lunch items. They are relatively new to the live music scene but have plans to have music regularly in the future. They will have concerts posted on the Facebook page.






3. Learn to Play Hockey

Hockey, you say? In Winnsboro? Yes, there is a roller hockey rink in Winnsboro! Every Thursday evening, people of all ages and backgrounds meet at the Friendship Center Rink (formerly known as Kendon's) to play hockey. They even have a goalie camp. They start with private lessons from 3-6 PM every Thursday after private lessons are skating by age.

6-7 PM is 5-7-year-olds (those as young as 3 are accepted)

7-8 PM is 11-17-year-olds

8-9 PM is for adults

9-10 PM are private lessons

The hockey lessons and skating are free; however, they are looking for more sponsors.





4. Play a Round of Mini Golf

Creekside Mini Golf is fun for the whole family. It's also cheap entertainment as children under four are free, and no one costs more than $7 per person. Best of all, you do not have to leave the town of Winnsboro to have a great time. The golf course is western-themed, with a cute little ghost town to take pictures of your fun day out. Buy your tickets online or once you get there.





5. Go to a Day Spa


Who doesn't need a pampering once in a while? A day at the Spa can be relaxing and enjoyable. Winnsboro Has Two spas with medically licensed practitioners and several spa treatments to choose from.

The largest of the two is Copperleaf Day Spa & Salon. They offer a plethora of services, many of which are medically supervised. You can receive normal spa choices such as manicures and pedicures, eyelash extensions, facials, and massages. They have 100 + offerings in those areas. The medical side of the Spa called, Directional Wellness, offers Botox Hormone therapy, IV Treatments, tattoo removal, and more.


There are several packages to choose from if you are in the mood for a day of relaxation. Choices include a first-time spa session, a mother-daughter session, and a mommy-to-be session. They also have massage and reflexology sessions ranging from 30 minutes to five hours. If you really want a pampering check out "The Oak" package that includes a full spa treatment with a lunch.


The Copperleaf day spa is perfect for a bride-to-be or wedding party. Most offerings will require an appointment, especially the larger massage packages.

Don't let the smaller size of the building fool you! Azalea House packs a pinch when it comes to services. The staff at Azalea House makes you feel at home and comfortable. Your privacy is their priority when it comes to services. They have licensed Estheticians and a medical Doctor on staff. Their services include Skin care, facials, botox, and anti-aging services. They also include waxing, eyelash extensions, micro-blading, and permanent makeup solutions.

You will need to make an appointment.
